Hi, I'm Uraiba
UX Researcher & Designer
My path into UX design began in fashion. While studying at The Ohio State University, I became fascinated by how people express identity and emotion through what they wear. Clothing isn’t just functional—it’s a form of communication—a principle I now apply to digital experiences.
After five years in retail management and visual merchandising, observing how subtle design choices influence behavior, I pivoted toward UX research and design to combine creativity with human-centered technology.
Now, as a graduate student in Pratt Institute’s Information Experience Design program, I focus on designing experiences that anticipate how humans will interact with emerging technologies—particularly AI. I’m interested in shaping interactions where AI feels intuitive, responsible, and empowering, exploring the ethical, emotional, and practical implications of automated systems before they become widespread.
I aim to design digital experiences that don’t just respond to current user needs but anticipate the future of human-technology relationships, helping people engage with AI in ways that feel thoughtful, intentional, and human-centered.
How I Think as a Designer
Start with people, not solutions
Good design begins with understanding behavior, motivations, and context before jumping to interfaces.
Technology should support, not overwhelm
As AI becomes embedded in more products, I’m interested in designing systems that feel intuitive and respectful of users’ attention and trust.
Curiosity drives the process
My background in fashion taught me to observe how people express themselves and navigate the world. I bring that same curiosity to digital environments—looking closely at how people actually interact with technology.
Design is always iterative
The most valuable insights often emerge through testing, feedback, and iteration rather than the first idea.
