Redesigning Disney+ using Microsoft's Fluent 2 Design System

For this project, I applied the Microsoft Fluent 2 design system to redesign the Disney+ Home Screen and Content Detail Page. The goal was to explore how a structured design system can guide interface clarity, accessibility, and component consistency while balancing brand expression.

Problem & Context
Disney+ relies heavily on cinematic, image-first layouts with implicit navigation, which can create challenges for usability, accessibility, and consistent interaction patterns. Full-bleed hero images and minimal metadata hierarchy make it difficult for users to quickly navigate content or understand available actions, while adhering to accessibility standards (contrast, keyboard navigation) is complex in highly visual layouts.

Outcome & Takeaways
The redesigned Disney+ screens demonstrate how a structured design system like Fluent 2 can streamline interface consistency, improve accessibility, and maintain predictable interaction patterns. This project strengthened my understanding of design system application, inclusive design principles, and the trade-offs between emotional storytelling and system clarity, providing insights directly applicable to future UX design work and system-based product redesigns.
